News::

24th October 08
You may have noticed a lack of live shows and new tracks recently. Basically gig plans and future releases have generally been put on hold while the recording and gigging with Love.Stop.Repeat is going on. The hive mind that is Dave Con Brio and Lindsay West, who make up LSR, are about to embark on their first live shows, following the selling out of the first pressing of their debut ep/mini-album. Two Scottish dates precede two dates in southern England. The next ep on De-Fence, out Nov 24th, features 2 LSR remixes by OnTheFly and Art Pedro and as per other releases, will be available on 10" and Cd. LSR have also been busy documenting their exploits in regular video diaries. These short films, now up to edition 12, feature writing, recording and rehearsal footage as well as the odd excursion to festivals, gigs and roadtrips throughout summer 2008 and onwards. In other news DCB has also contributed percussion parts for tracks featured on recent Art Pedro releases, who he's also currently remixing a track for. And finally, if that wasn't enough, DCB can also be found moonlighting under the guise of drummer for band Attention! All Shipping.

Quick update on the music video award; we didn't win. However, if you fancy a giggle, you can view the acceptance speach video they had us make to play at the ceremony if we'd won (we couldn't get to Toronto for the bash sadly). It's right here - and yes, this is really what we submitted :)

Spin: The Art of Cover Design - Exhibition. GQ Editor Dylan Jones, The Horrors' Faris Rotter and designer Peter Saville have selected some of the most iconic cover art of the last four decades to appear in Spin. The cover art of Con Brio's "We're All On Fire" (on Disco_r.dance) appears in the exhibition throughout September. More details here.

The video for 'Deep Blue' got voted through to the final round of the CraveFest music video awards! The winner will be announced at the end of August as a live ceremony in Toronto. If you hear no more about it, assume we lost ;). Thanks to all of you who voted to get it/us this far however - we mightn't win, but we've been truly humbled to be voted through by y'all.

The video for 'Deep Blue' (from the De-Fence 10x10:03 EP) has been put forward for a music video award. It's in the public voting round at the moment which goes on until the end of July. The top 5 then go through to the final where judges announce the winners at an awards ceremony in Canada in September. Vote Here.

Con Brio will be performing 2 tracks featuring vocalist/lyricist Sam Willard for Channel 4's online radio programme "The River House" in November. Dedicated to showcasing spoken word and electronica artists, the show will be broadcast later this year - more details to follow.

"All round great music", "amazing!", "original and very well produced", "Quite frankly it fucking rules" - are some of the very nice comments we've seen regarding the split Ep with Kiki/Ill.

It's also received some airplay from our favorite Dj Marcelle van Hoof over at Another Nice Mess.

Copies will be available at the forthcoming Reading show. Smile nicely at one of the luverly Kraked merchandise peddlers and they might sell you one :)
